Saturday night at Martinsville Speedway was one to remember — not just for the fans, but for one driver who turned a dream into reality.

Lee Pulliam, a longtime short-track standout, made his debut in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series — and did it in style behind the wheel of the Jerky Boys-sponsored Chevrolet.

From Short Track Legend to NASCAR Spotlight

Pulliam isn’t new to racing — far from it. Known as one of the most dominant late model drivers in the country, he’s built a reputation as a true racer’s racer. But Saturday marked something bigger.

It was his first shot on a national NASCAR stage.

And he didn’t waste it.

A Strong Run in the Jerky Boys Car

Starting 12th in the field, Pulliam quickly proved he belonged. As the laps clicked off, he worked his way toward the front — not just hanging on, but competing.

Then came the moment.

Pulliam took the lead.

Not once — but twice — leading a total of 40 laps in one of the most competitive races of the season.

For a debut driver, that’s not just impressive — it’s statement-making.

Battling Late-Race Chaos

Martinsville is known for tight racing, tempers, and chaos — and Saturday delivered exactly that.

Late-race cautions stacked the field back up, turning the final laps into a battle of survival. Pulliam lined up near the front with a real shot at winning, but a missed shift on a restart shuffled him back just enough to change the outcome.

Still, he never fell apart.

He stayed in the fight and crossed the finish line in 5th place — an incredible result for his first start at this level.

A Dream Come True

After the race, Pulliam summed it up best — this wasn’t just another race.

It was a dream.

Driving for JR Motorsports, competing at Martinsville, and doing it with partners like Jerky Boys on board made the moment even bigger.

And it showed.

Jerky Boys on the National Stage

For Jerky Boys, this race was more than just a sponsorship — it was a statement.

Seeing the brand on a car running up front, leading laps, and finishing top five on a national NASCAR stage is huge.

It’s the kind of exposure you can’t fake.

It’s earned.

And Pulliam delivered.

What This Means Moving Forward for Lee Pulliam

A top-five finish in a debut race doesn’t just turn heads — it opens doors.

Pulliam proved he can compete at this level. And if this opportunity comes around again, one thing is clear:

He won’t just be racing…

He’ll be racing to win.
